There are a few things that can impact the water pressure on your Galley Tap, after it has been installed over time.
Here are a few reasons to consider:
- It may be time to replace your water filtration cartridge. You should check your filtration system to verify if a replacement might be needed.
- The aerator may need to be cleaned. We recommend cleaning your Galley Tap aerator every 6-12 months depending on water quality and frequency of use. Here is a video demonstrating how to remove the aerator: Aerator replacement. This process will require the use of the aerator key which would have been included with your Tap upon delivery. The purpose of the aerator is to catch debris, which can cause a reduction in water pressure if not regularly cleaned. Once the aerator is removed, you can rinse out the screen to clear out any debris that may have collected.
- The angled stop valve(s) might not be completely open. Although this is a routine process for plumbers, we have found that this is missed from time to time - especially if you have recently received plumbing services.
- The PSI to your water supply (not the whole home) might be less than 60. The Optimal Pressure Range for The Galley Taps is 60 PSI ≤ 75 PSI.
- Debris could be caught in the hose or check valves, which could create a blockage and restrict the flow of water. If you believe debris might be caught in the supply hoses, they should be back flushed. Here is a helpful video that describes how this can be performed: Back-Flush your Supply Hoses
